Tisa LaSorte Reappointed as Informateur for Cabinet Formation

Oranjestad, Dec. 11, 2024 - Governor Alfonso Boekhoudt today appointed Tisa LaSorte as informateur for the formation of a new cabinet. LaSorte, known for her broad experience in both the tourism sector and previous political advisory roles, was already entrusted with the task once in 2021.

Independent and Experienced Profile

In choosing an informateur, the Governor stressed the importance of an independent profile. LaSorte's extensive background makes her a natural choice. After a successful career in the media and as CEO of the Aruba Hotel and Tourism Association (AHATA), she has proven her ability to build consensus in complex situations.

In 2021, LaSorte was also appointed as informateur. Her work then led to valuable insights into Aruba's political dynamics, with which she now once again plays a crucial role in the search for stable governance.

Current Assignment

LaSorte has been asked to explore options for a cabinet that can count on a majority in the States. The new cabinet should focus on financial-economic stability and cost of living control. If successful, LaSorte will guide the parties involved in signing a letter of willingness to work together in a coalition government.

LaSorte accepted the assignment and will report to the Governor by December 20, 2024.
