ORANJESTAD \u2014 Het Horacio Oduber Hospital (HOH) is dit jaar de offici\u00eble organisator van de Copa Gubernamental y Comercial 2025. Dat werd recent bekendgemaakt tijdens een persconferentie in aanwezigheid van softbalspelers van verschillende overheidsinstanties en commerci\u00eble organisaties.<\/p>\n

Het toernooi gaat van start op donderdag 19 juni op het veld van Kudawecha Ballpark. In totaal nemen twaalf overheidsteams en zes commerci\u00eble teams deel aan de competitie. Gedurende tien speeldagen strijden zij om de kampioenstitel, met de finale op 29 juni.<\/p>\n

Gregory Croeze, bestuurslid van HOH, sprak tijdens de persconferentie over de eer die het ziekenhuis ervaart met de organisatie van het toernooi. Volgens hem is er het afgelopen jaar hard gewerkt om het kampioenschap mogelijk te maken. Hij benadrukte daarnaast het belang van sport voor de fysieke en mentale gezondheid. Een gezondere bevolking heeft uiteindelijk minder medische zorg nodig, aldus Croeze.<\/p>\n

Dr. Dave Lacl\u00e9, namens de organisatiecommissie, bedankte de twaalf ingeschreven overheidsteams en de zes commerci\u00eble teams voor hun deelname. Ook sprak hij zijn waardering uit voor sponsor Balashi, die zich volgens hem direct achter het initiatief heeft geschaard.<\/p>\n

De Copa Gubernamental y Comercial wordt inmiddels al zes jaar georganiseerd. Dit jaar heeft HOH de organisatie in handen. Het programma loopt in de eerste week van 19 tot en met 22 juni. Op donderdag beginnen de wedstrijden, terwijl op vrijdag om 19.00 uur de offici\u00eble ceremonie plaatsvindt, gevolgd door muzikaal entertainment van Zeta Band. Ook op zaterdag en zondag staan wedstrijden op het programma.<\/p>\n

In de tweede week wordt verder gespeeld van 24 tot en met 29 juni. De afsluiting vindt plaats op 29 juni, wanneer de beste teams in de categorie\u00ebn gouvernementeel en commercieel strijden om het kampioenschap. Het slotprogramma wordt opgeluisterd door de lokale band OREO.<\/p>\n

De organisatie nodigt het publiek uit om de wedstrijden bij te wonen in Kudawecha Ballpark op 19 tot en met 22 juni en van 24 tot en met 29 juni. Volgens HOH zullen bar en keuken goed voorzien zijn.
