ORANJESTAD<\/strong> \u2013 De MEP-fractie in het parlement heeft een overleg gehad met de Studenten Commissie Aruba, een commissie van Arubaanse studenten in Nederland. Deze commissie werd in februari van dit jaar op initiatief van voormalig premier Evelyn Wever-Croes ingesteld als speciale commissie om het Arubahuis en Arubaanse studenten in Nederland te ondersteunen.<\/p>\n

Volgens parlementari\u00ebr Evelyn Wever-Croes werd tijdens haar ambtsperiode als premier al eerder met deze groep gesproken. Zij verklaarde dat zij de commissie vorig jaar maart in Nederland heeft ontmoet en dat de commissie in februari 2025 officieel is ge\u00efnstalleerd als studentenraad om het Arubahuis en de regering van Aruba te adviseren en te ondersteunen.<\/p>\n

Wever-Croes sprak haar waardering uit voor de inzet van de jongeren. Volgens haar tonen de commissieleden veel betrokkenheid bij het begeleiden en adviseren van Arubaanse studenten in Nederland. Ook zou inmiddels in kaart worden gebracht welke maatregelen nodig zijn om studenten beter te ondersteunen.<\/p>\n

Als voorbeelden noemde zij een betere voorbereiding van studenten v\u00f3\u00f3r vertrek naar Nederland, een traject dat volgens haar al in gang was gezet onder begeleiding van voormalig minister Endy Croes. Daarnaast wees zij op het belang van goede begeleiding na aankomst in Nederland, zodat studenten zich sneller kunnen aanpassen aan hun nieuwe omgeving.<\/p>\n

Ook vroeg zij aandacht voor de periode na afronding van de studie. Volgens Wever-Croes is het belangrijk dat er perspectief is op werk op Aruba voor afgestudeerden. Een ander punt dat volgens haar eerder binnen het kabinet-Wever-Croes werd besproken, is de vraag of mentoren in Nederland studenten langer dan alleen het eerste jaar moeten begeleiden.<\/p>\n

Wever-Croes noemde het een positief overleg en wenste de commissie veel succes. Ook bedankte zij de leden voor hun bereidheid om deze taak op zich te nemen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
