ORANJESTAD<\/strong> \u2014 Bijna zes maanden na de verkiezingen beschikt Aruba nog altijd niet over een volledig kabinet. Dat stelt parlementari\u00ebr Evelyn Wever-Croes, die zich kritisch uitlaat over het ontbreken van leiderschap en verantwoordelijkheid binnen het huidige bestuur.<\/p>\n

Volgens Wever-Croes wordt in de kwestie rond de screening van kandidaat-ministers geen duidelijk besluit genomen. Zij verwijt premier Mike Eman dat hij de zaak bij de rechter heeft neergelegd. Ook ministers Gerlien Croes en Geoffrey Wever zouden volgens haar onvoldoende verantwoordelijkheid nemen in dit dossier.<\/p>\n

Wever-Croes zegt begrip te hebben voor de positie van Mike de Meza, als die zich slachtoffer voelt van de ontstane situatie. Volgens haar is hij in dat geval vooral slachtoffer van zijn politieke leider, die volgens de parlementari\u00ebr anders had moeten omgaan met de eigen kandidaten van de groene partij.<\/p>\n

Daarnaast noemt zij het onjuist dat Aruba volgens haar nog altijd wordt bestuurd door een onvolledig kabinet. De parlementari\u00ebr benadrukt dat het land behoefte heeft aan een regering die zowel in goede als in moeilijke tijden knopen durft door te hakken.<\/p>\n

In haar verklaring verwees Wever-Croes naar de vorige regeringsperiode onder haar leiding. Zij stelt dat Aruba in die jaren gewend was aan krachtig bestuur, waarbij dagelijks leiding werd gegeven, informatie werd verstrekt en beslissingen werden genomen.<\/p>\n

Als een regering volgens haar al moeite heeft om in een relatief beperkt dossier als de screening een besluit te nemen, roept dat vragen op over de slagkracht bij grotere uitdagingen. \u201cAruba verdient beter\u201d, aldus Wever-Croes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
