ORANJESTAD \u2014 Het enthousiasme voor de viering van Olympische Dag op Aruba is groot. Dat laat het Arubaans Olympisch Comit\u00e9 (COA) weten in aanloop naar de IBISA Kids Run & Olympic Day Celebration 2025, die op 21 juni plaatsvindt.<\/p>\n

Zoals vorige week tijdens een persconferentie bij IBISA werd toegelicht, staat het evenement in het teken van Olympic Day, die internationaal op 23 juni wordt herdacht. Naast de IBISA Kids Run, die diezelfde ochtend wordt gehouden, zal ook de Atletencommissie van het COA samen met de aangesloten sportfederaties aanwezig zijn.<\/p>\n

Bezoekers krijgen daarbij informatie over de verschillende sporten die op Aruba worden beoefend. Ook staan demonstraties op het programma, zodat jongeren en andere ge\u00efnteresseerden op een toegankelijke manier kennis kunnen maken met het sportaanbod op het eiland.<\/p>\n

Volgens Monica Pimentel, voorzitter van de Atletencommissie en olympisch atlete, is de dag bedoeld om sport, beweging en de olympische gedachte extra onder de aandacht te brengen. Het COA wil met de activiteit vooral deelname en betrokkenheid stimuleren.<\/p>\n

Met de combinatie van een hardloopevenement voor kinderen en presentaties van diverse bonden hopen de organisatoren op een brede opkomst. De viering van Olympische Dag moet uitgroeien tot een moment waarop sporters, bonden en publiek samenkomen rond sport en gezonde leefstijl.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
