ORANJESTAD<\/strong> \u2014 De fractie van MEP in het parlement heeft dinsdag een overleg gehouden met FCCA over het dossier sociale woningbouw. Aanleiding voor het gesprek is een wijziging in de begroting 2025 van het nieuwe kabinet AVP-Futuro, waarbij een eerder gereserveerde financiering van 17 miljoen florin voor FCCA is geschrapt.<\/p>\n

Volgens MEP was deze financiering door de vorige regering beschikbaar gesteld om op korte termijn tussen de 150 en 200 sociale woningen te kunnen realiseren. Het bedrag is inmiddels weggehaald en ondergebracht in een investeringsfonds, waarvoor volgens de partij nog geen concreet plan bestaat.<\/p>\n

De MEP-fractie zegt het gesprek met FCCA te hebben aangevraagd om inzicht te krijgen in de effecten van deze beslissing op de sociale sector. Daarbij wordt gewezen op de wachtlijst voor sociale woningen, waarop naar schatting ongeveer 3.000 mensen staan ingeschreven.<\/p>\n

FCCA heeft tijdens het overleg aangegeven dat het vraagstuk van sociale woningbouw om onmiddellijke aandacht vraagt. Volgens de organisatie zouden de beschikbare middelen verlichting kunnen brengen voor mensen die dringend behoefte hebben aan betaalbare huisvesting.<\/p>\n

Parlementari\u00ebr Evelyn Wever-Croes verklaarde dat het overleg positief is verlopen. Zij stelde dat de MEP-fractie het onderwerp op de politieke agenda zal blijven houden totdat de nieuwe regering de middelen opnieuw aan FCCA toewijst, zodat tegemoet kan worden gekomen aan de woningnood onder kwetsbare groepen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
