ORANJESTAD \u2014 Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA) heeft samen met Aruba Ports Authority N.V. (APA) in april de cruiseschepen Queen Anne<\/em>, Star Princess<\/em> en Scenic Eclipse<\/em> officieel verwelkomd tijdens hun eerste aanlopen in de haven van Aruba.<\/p>\n

De schepen Queen Anne<\/em> en Star Princess<\/em> deden Aruba aan op 16 april 2026. De Scenic Eclipse<\/em> volgde op 19 april 2026. Volgens ATA en APA bevestigen deze bezoeken de voortdurende positie van Aruba als belangrijke bestemming in het Caribisch gebied, met nadruk op kwaliteitstoerisme, samenwerking binnen de sector en duurzame ontwikkeling van de cruise-industrie.<\/p>\n

De eerste aanloop van de Queen Anne<\/em> werd lokaal afgehandeld door SEL Maduro and Sons. De Star Princess<\/em> werd vertegenwoordigd door Armada Port Agency. Namens ATA was Visitor Care Liaison Marouska Heyliger aanwezig, samen met vertegenwoordigers van APA.<\/p>\n

Op 19 april maakte ook het ultra-luxe expeditieschip Scenic Eclipse<\/em> zijn inaugurele bezoek aan Aruba. Ook dit schip werd lokaal behandeld door SEL Maduro and Sons. Met deze aanloop wil Aruba volgens de betrokken organisaties ook zijn relatie met het luxe- en expeditiecruisesegment verder versterken.<\/p>\n

ATA en APA wijzen erop dat de drie schepen passen binnen bredere ontwikkelingen in de cruise-industrie op het gebied van duurzaamheid. Daarbij wordt onder meer ingezet op een hogere energie-effici\u00ebntie, afvalvermindering, geavanceerde systemen voor afvalwaterbehandeling en een vorm van bestemmingsbeheer die de lokale gemeenschap moet ondersteunen en de milieubelasting moet beperken.<\/p>\n

Bij alle eerste aanlopen vond een traditionele plaquette-uitwisseling plaats. Daarbij overhandigen de gezagvoerders of officieren van het schip en vertegenwoordigers van de gastbestemming elkaar een herdenkingsplaquette. Die maritieme traditie geldt als teken van wederzijds respect, goede verstandhouding en samenwerking op langere termijn tussen rederij, havenagent en bestemming.<\/p>\n

De Queen Anne<\/em> is een schip uit de Pinnacle-klasse van Cunard Line en kwam in 2024 in de vaart als nieuwste toevoeging aan de vloot van de rederij. De Star Princess<\/em> en de Scenic Eclipse<\/em> behoren eveneens tot een segment dat voor Aruba van belang is in het streven naar een gevarieerd en kwalitatief cruisetoerisme.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
