Zij werd vergezeld door Suzette Dumfries, een lokale sportliefhebber die zich wil inzetten voor de oprichting van een boogschietfederatie op Aruba.<\/p>\n<p>Volgens het COA bestaat er op Aruba belangstelling om de olympische sport boogschieten verder te ontwikkelen. Tijdens het overleg is uitgelegd welke stappen nodig zijn om een federatie op te zetten en aan welke voorwaarden moet worden voldaan om zich na oprichting bij het COA aan te sluiten.<\/p>\n<p>Daarnaast werd gesproken over de ontwikkeling van de sport op Cura\u00e7ao en over mogelijke samenwerking tussen beide eilanden. Die samenwerking moet eraan bijdragen dat toekomstige Arubaanse sporters het vereiste niveau kunnen bereiken om via het COA deel te nemen aan evenementen zoals de Pan-Amerikaanse Spelen en de Olympische Spelen.<\/p>\n<p>Het COA sprak na afloop waardering uit voor het bezoek en voor de getoonde interesse in boogschieten. De organisatie noemt de sport een interessante mogelijke aanvulling voor Team Aruba in de toekomst en zegt bereid te zijn ondersteuning te bieden bij het proces om een Arubaanse boogschietfederatie
