ORANJESTAD \u2014 MEP-parlementari\u00ebr Xiomara Maduro heeft scherpe kritiek geuit op enkele parlementari\u00ebrs van de coalitiepartijen AVP en FUTURO naar aanleiding van een openbare bijeenkomst met vakbonden over de Rijkswet HOFA.<\/p>\n

Volgens Maduro bleek tijdens die bijeenkomst dat de vakbonden zich genoodzaakt voelden om de betrokken parlementari\u00ebrs uitleg te geven over de inhoud van de wet en de mogelijke gevolgen daarvan voor Aruba. Zij noemt dat zorgwekkend, omdat het volgens haar gaat om besluitvorming met grote impact op het land.<\/p>\n

\u201cHet is verontrustend dat mensen die de verantwoordelijkheid hebben om belangrijke beslissingen voor ons volk te nemen, niet volledig op de hoogte zijn van de inhoud van deze wet en evenmin van de mogelijke consequenties voor Aruba. Besluiten van deze omvang verdienen studie, begrip en serieuze inzet\u201d, aldus Maduro in een verklaring.<\/p>\n

De parlementari\u00ebr stelt dat het parlement een plaats moet zijn van kennis, voorbereiding en verantwoord debat. Dat vakbonden volgens haar tijdens de bijeenkomst de rol van uitlegger moesten overnemen, noemt zij een dieptepunt voor het parlement.<\/p>\n

Maduro roept de parlementari\u00ebrs van AVP en FUTURO op hun taak en de toekomst van Aruba serieuzer te nemen door zich beter te informeren, zich grondig voor te bereiden en steeds in het belang van de bevolking te handelen.
