ORANJESTAD \u2014 Het team van fysieke trainers van het Arubaans Olympisch Comit\u00e9 (COA) heeft zijn technische bijscholing voortgezet met een cursus van de Colombiaanse coach Adolfo Gallego Salas. De training volgde op een eerder virtueel traject dat enkele weken geleden werd afgerond.<\/p>\n

Gallego Salas, die momenteel Aruba bezoekt, is coach in het gewichtheffen en werkt in Colombia ook als fysieke trainer voor verschillende sportdisciplines. Hij was enkele jaren geleden al actief op Aruba als coach van de Aruba Amateur Weightlifting Association (AAWA). In die periode werd samen met atleet Joel Kuiperi een historisch resultaat behaald voor Aruba, met een zilveren medaille op de Zuid-Amerikaanse Spelen van Cochabamba in 2018.<\/p>\n

Tijdens twee sessies bij het COA kreeg de groep les over diverse belangrijke onderdelen van fysieke training. Aan bod kwam onder meer het opstellen van een trainingsplan voor fysieke voorbereiding, gekoppeld aan het inzicht in de verschillende fysieke en conditionele capaciteiten van elke atleet. Volgens het COA verschillen die noden per sport en is gerichte kennis daarom van groot belang.<\/p>\n

Met de opleiding wil het COA het niveau van zijn fysieke trainers verder verhogen, zodat zij atleten beter kunnen begeleiden in de aanloop naar wedstrijden binnen de Olympische cyclus.<\/p>\n

Het COA sprak zijn waardering uit voor de inzet van Gallego Salas en voor de kennis die hij met de Arubaanse trainers heeft gedeeld. De organisatie verwacht dat deze expertise zal bijdragen aan de verdere ontwikkeling van de atleten van Team Aruba.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
