ORANJESTAD<\/strong> \u2013 Dia di Betico is zondag groots gevierd op het hoofdkantoor van MEP in Oranjestad. Volgens de partij kwamen tussen 10.00 uur \u2019s morgens en 21.00 uur \u2019s avonds duizenden bezoekers naar de locatie voor een dagprogramma met activiteiten voor alle leeftijden.<\/p>\n

Op het terrein waren zestien stands met traditionele gerechten ingericht. Daarnaast werden een minivoetbaltoernooi en dominowedstrijden gehouden. Voor kinderen was er een springkussen, terwijl het publiek ook kon genieten van culturele optredens met zang, dans en po\u00ebzie. De muzikale omlijsting werd verzorgd door de bands DURO en Tsunami.<\/p>\n

Een bijzonder moment tijdens de viering was de onthulling van een groot portret van drie leiders van de partij: wijlen Betico Croes, Nel Oduber en premier Evelyn Wever-Croes. Bij die gelegenheid waren onder anderen de kinderen van Betico Croes aanwezig, evenals Nel Oduber met zijn familie en Evelyn Wever-Croes met haar familie.<\/p>\n

In het partijcentrum werd ook een documentaire over Betico Croes vertoond. Volgens MEP maakte die film veel indruk op de aanwezigen. Ook bezoekers die al goed bekend waren met de geschiedenis van Betico Croes, zouden door de documentaire zijn geraakt.<\/p>\n
