ORANJESTAD \u2014 De Partido Movimiento Electoral di Pueblo (MEP) organiseert zondag een bijeenkomst op het partijcentrum ter gelegenheid van Dia di Betico. Dat laat fractielid Rocco Tjon weten in een communiqu\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Volgens Tjon was Betico Croes niet alleen een politiek leider, maar ook een bepalende stem in de strijd die heeft geleid tot de Status Aparte van Aruba. In de verklaring staat dat Croes het Arubaanse volk wist te bewustmaken en te verenigen, en zich met moed, vastberadenheid en liefde voor het land inzette voor autonomie, waardigheid en zelfbeschikking.<\/p>\n

MEP benadrukt verder dat Croes een blijvend erfgoed heeft nagelaten van vreedzame strijd, dialoog en vertrouwen in de toekomst van Aruba. Dankzij die inzet, aldus de partij, heeft Aruba de vrijheid gekregen om het eigen toekomstpad te bepalen.<\/p>\n

Dia di Betico is volgens de partij niet alleen een moment om stil te staan bij behaalde resultaten, maar ook om te reflecteren op de voortdurende inzet voor een rechtvaardig, solidair en sterk Aruba. In het communiqu\u00e9 wordt erop gewezen dat Croes het belang van eenheid binnen het volk centraal stelde.<\/p>\n

MEP nodigt de bevolking uit om zondag naar het partijcentrum te komen om samen te herdenken, te vieren en stil te staan bij de betekenis van Betico Croes voor de Arubaanse geschiedenis.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
