Volgens het Openbaar Ministerie is de maatregel bedoeld om de veiligheid op straat te vergroten en de risico\u2019s van wapens en wapengebruik zoveel mogelijk te beperken.<\/p>\n<p>De eerste parade waarbij preventief gefouilleerd zal worden, is de Fakkelparade in Oranjestad op 3 en 4 januari 2026.<\/p>\n<p>In het kader van het preventief fouilleren heeft de politie de bevoegdheid personen staande te houden en aan de kleding te onderzoeken. Ook kan worden gevorderd dat tassen en verpakkingen worden geopend en gecontroleerd. Daarnaast mogen auto\u2019s en andere vervoermiddelen worden doorzocht op de aanwezigheid van wapens.<\/p>\n<p>De machtiging voor preventief fouilleren geldt in Oranjestad voor de Fakkelparade, het Kindercarnaval, de Lighting Parade en de Grote Parade. In San Nicolas betreft het de Jouvert Morning, het Kindercarnaval, de Parada di Luz en de Grote Parade.<\/p>\n<p>Het schema is als volgt:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fakkelparade in Oranjestad: van 3 januari 2026 om 19.00 uur tot 4 januari 2026 om 07.00 uur.<\/li>\n<li>Kindercarnaval in Oranjestad: 1 februari 2026 van 12.00 uur tot 24.00 uur.<\/li>\n<li>Jouvert Morning in San Nicolas: van 6 februari 2026 om 22.00 uur tot 7 februari 2026 om 11.00 uur.<\/li>\n<li>Lighting Parade in Oranjestad: van 7 februari 2026 om 19.00 uur tot 8 februari 2026 om 07.00 uur.<\/li>\n<li>Kindercarnaval in San Nicolas: 8 februari 2026 van 12.00 uur tot 24.00 uur.<\/li>\n<li>Parada di Luz in San Nicolas: van 12 februari 2026 om 19.00 uur tot 13 februari 2026 om 07.00 uur.<\/li>\n<li>Grote Parade in San Nicolas: 14 februari 2026 van 11.00 uur tot 23.00 uur.<\/li>\n<li>Grote Parade in Oranjestad: 15 februari 2026 van 10.00 uur tot 23.00 uur.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Het Openbaar Ministerie wenst het publiek een feestelijk Carnaval 72 toe en stelt samen met de politie in te zetten op de veiligheid van alle aanwezigen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tijdens de carnavalsparades van 2026 zal de politie opnieuw preventief fouilleren op wapenbezit.
