ORANJESTAD \u2014 Enkele weken geleden heeft de Aruba Athletes Commission (AAC) het eerste Athletes Forum op Aruba georganiseerd. Voor het evenement bestond veel belangstelling van sporters uit uiteenlopende disciplines.<\/p>\n

Omdat het om het eerste grote forum ging dat door het Arubaans Olympisch Comit\u00e9 (COA) en de AAC werd opgezet, kozen de organisatoren ervoor een speciale gast uit te nodigen. Doel was om de aanwezige atleten te voorzien van waardevolle informatie en praktische kennis.<\/p>\n

Speciale gast was Carlos Santiago OLY, olympisch judoka die deelnam aan de Spelen van Sydney 2000. Tegenwoordig is hij educator voor het platform Athlete365. Daarnaast is hij uitvoerend lid van het Olympisch Comit\u00e9 van Puerto Rico en maakt hij deel uit van de atletencommissie van Panam Sports en het Internationaal Olympisch Comit\u00e9 (IOC).<\/p>\n

Santiago verzorgde tijdens het forum verschillende workshops, onder meer over atletenrechten, public speaking en het platform Athlete365. Volgens het COA werden de sessies op een interactieve en dynamische manier gebracht, wat leidde tot een hoge mate van betrokkenheid onder de deelnemers.<\/p>\n

Vooral onder jonge sporters was er veel belangstelling voor de behandelde onderwerpen. Zij stelden volgens de organisatie verschillende vragen om de thema\u2019s beter te begrijpen.<\/p>\n

Daarnaast nam Santiago deel aan een sessie met olympische atleten, waarin ervaringen uit de sportcarri\u00e8re en het leven na de topsport werden besproken.<\/p>\n

Het COA en de AAC spreken hun waardering uit voor de bijdrage van Santiago en zijn presentatie aan de Arubaanse sportgemeenschap.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
