ORANJESTAD \u2014 Aruba was van 10 tot en met 14 november 2025 gastheer van War Room 2.0, een gezamenlijke operatie en analysetraject gericht op de bestrijding van criminaliteit met vuurwapens. Tijdens deze intensieve week werkten informatiespecialisten, analisten en rechercheurs uit verschillende Caribische eilanden en Nederland samen aan het in kaart brengen van interinsulaire patronen in transport, handel, opslag en gebruik van vuurwapens.<\/p>\n

Volgens het Korps Politie Aruba (KPA) lag de nadruk op het analyseren van criminele bewegingen tussen de eilanden en het versterken van de informatie-uitwisseling tussen de betrokken diensten. Aan War Room 2.0 namen de vijf politiekorpsen binnen het Koninkrijk deel: KPA, KPC, KPCN, KPSM en de Politie Nederland. Ook het Recherche Samenwerkingsteam (RST), de Koninklijke Marechaussee, de Kustwacht Caribisch Gebied en medewerkers van het Openbaar Ministerie maakten deel uit van het samenwerkingsverband.<\/p>\n

De bijeenkomst vond plaats bij de Veiligheidsdienst Nederland overzee (VNO). Daar voerden minister van Justitie Arthur Dowers en korpschef Ramon Arnhem het woord. In de toelichting werd benadrukt dat de gezamenlijke aanpak niet bij overleg alleen moet blijven, maar moet leiden tot concrete acties tegen vuurwapengeweld binnen het hele Koninkrijk.<\/p>\n

Met War Room 2.0 willen de deelnemende instanties de samenwerking tussen de landen en eilanden verder verdiepen. Er wordt inmiddels al gewerkt aan een volgende editie, waarbij ook Caricom IMPACS betrokken zal worden om de regionale samenwerking verder uit te breiden.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
