Zij ontvingen een officieel certificaat en een pin met de aanduiding <strong>OLY<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Volgens het Comit\u00e9 Ol\u00edmpico Arubano is OLY een internationale postnominale titel die olympi\u00ebrs achter hun naam mogen gebruiken, vergelijkbaar met academische titels als PhD, MSc of BSc. De onderscheiding geldt als erkenning voor hun inzet in de sport en hun bijdrage aan de olympische waarden.<\/p>\n<p>De OLY-pin en het certificaat worden uitgegeven door de <em>World Olympians Association<\/em> (WOA), een internationale organisatie die zich inzet voor de ondersteuning van olympi\u00ebrs tijdens en na hun sportloopbaan. De Arubaanse Associatie van Olympische Atleten verzorgt lokaal de afstemming met de WOA.<\/p>\n<p>De volgende atleten ontvingen dit jaar de onderscheiding:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ethan Westera (Parijs 2024)<\/li>\n<li>Shanayah Howell (Parijs 2024)<\/li>\n<li>Chlo\u00eb Farro (Parijs 2024)<\/li>\n<li>Elliot Loonstra (Paralympische Spelen Parijs 2024)<\/li>\n<li>Mikel Schreuders (Rio 2016, Tokio 2020 en Parijs 2024)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Het Comit\u00e9 Ol\u00edmpico Arubano sprak zijn felicitaties uit aan de onderscheiden atleten.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tijdens de
