De overdracht vond plaats in een sfeervolle bijeenkomst met Surinaamse muziek.<\/p>\n<p>Albert Helman is onder meer bekend van de boeken <em>De Stille Plantage<\/em> en <em>Amor ontdekt Aruba<\/em>. Dat laatste werk kwam tot stand op verzoek van wijlen Henny Eman, die Helman vroeg iets bijzonders over Aruba te schrijven. Daarmee kreeg Aruba ook via de literatuur extra bekendheid.<\/p>\n<p>De collectie werd geschonken door Henri en Ida Does, die bevriend waren met Lichtveld tijdens zijn verblijf op Aruba. Met de overdracht is volgens de aanwezigen een langgekoesterde wens in vervulling gegaan, 29 jaar na het overlijden van de schrijver in 1996.<\/p>\n<p>Tijdens de bijeenkomst werd gesproken door Astrid Britten, directeur van de Nationale Bibliotheek, Henri en Ida Does, Wim Rutgers en minister-president Mike Eman. De collectie werd symbolisch door het echtpaar Does overhandigd aan premier Eman, die deze vervolgens doorgaf aan bibliotheekdirecteur Britten. Daarna werd de collectie overgedragen aan Renwick Heronimo van de afdeling Arubiana-Caribiana van de Nationale Bibliotheek.<\/p>\n<p>Parlementari\u00ebr Xiomara Maduro was bij de ceremonie aanwezig. Zij bedankte Henri en Ida Does voor de schenking en feliciteerde de Nationale Bibliotheek met de aanwinst. Volgens Maduro bood de avond een waardevolle inkijk in het leven van Lou Lichtveld, als schrijver Albert Helman en als veelzijdig Surinamer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>De
