ORANJESTAD<\/strong> \u2013 Tijdens de behandeling van de begroting 2026 van het parlement heeft de MEP-fractie maandag scherpe kritiek geuit op vicevoorzitter Muzanin Wever van Futuro. Volgens verschillende MEP-parlementari\u00ebrs was zijn optreden in de afgelopen week onaanvaardbaar en in strijd met de regels.<\/p>\n

Parlementari\u00ebr Edgard Vrolijk stelde dat Wever meerdere artikelen van de Arubaanse Grondwet zou hebben geschonden. Hij gaf daarbij een toelichting op constitutionele bepalingen die volgens hem zijn overtreden.<\/p>\n

Shailiny Tromp-Lee noemde de houding van de vicevoorzitter dictatoriaal en sprak van een ontoelaatbare vorm van manipulatie. Ook Rocco Tjon uitte stevige kritiek. Hij zei zich af te vragen wat het nut is van het goedkeuren van de parlementsbegroting als het parlement zichzelf en de eigen regels niet respecteert. Daarbij verwees hij naar het volgens hem niet naleven van regels door de fracties van AVP en Futuro.<\/p>\n

Endy Croes veroordeelde op zijn beurt het gebrek aan transparantie bij het handelen van de vicevoorzitter.<\/p>\n

Hendrik Tevreden sloot zich daarbij aan en stelde dat het parlement zelf het goede voorbeeld moet geven, vooral wanneer het gaat om het bewaken van de democratie. In haar bijdrage concludeerde Evelyn Wever-Croes dat het optreden van Muzanin Wever volgens haar in strijd was met de wet en daarom niet zonder gevolgen kan blijven.<\/p>\n

Zij vroeg direct om een overleg van de fractieleiders om zich te beraden over mogelijke vervolgstappen en consequenties.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
