NOORD \u2014 Pedro \u2018Perucho\u2019 Goncalves viert vrijdag zijn 90ste verjaardag. Dat heeft de familie Goncalves in een persbericht bekendgemaakt. De familie nodigt bekenden, oud-klanten, collega\u2019s, buren en vrienden uit om de bijzondere mijlpaal mee te vieren.<\/p>\n

Goncalves is in Noord, Palm Beach en op Aruba bij velen bekend als voormalig eigenaar van de Caribbean Store in Palm Beach, een zaak die hij gedurende 35 jaar exploiteerde. Volgens de familie groeide de winkel in de loop der jaren uit tot een vertrouwde plek voor buurtbewoners van alle leeftijden en voor toeristen.<\/p>\n

Perucho werd geboren op Madeira, in Portugal, en groeide op in een groot gezin dat verbonden was met landbouw en veeteelt. In zijn jeugd emigreerde hij naar Venezuela. Later kwam hij samen met zijn vader en broer naar Aruba. Voordat hij zijn eigen winkel opende, werkte hij bij verschillende bedrijven.<\/p>\n

In het persbericht wordt Goncalves omschreven als een hardwerkende en sociale man, bekend om zijn humor en zijn hartelijke omgang met mensen. Hij is getrouwd met Dionisia \u2018Denny\u2019 Kelly. Samen kregen zij twee kinderen, Daphny en Daniel, en het gezin werd later uitgebreid met vijf kleinkinderen.<\/p>\n

Volgens de familie verkeert Goncalves op 90-jarige leeftijd in goede gezondheid en heeft hij nog altijd dezelfde levenslust en humor die hem door de jaren heen hebben gekenmerkt.<\/p>\n
