ORANJESTAD<\/strong> \u2014 De fractie van MEP heeft een motie ingediend om naar eigen zeggen een onrechtvaardige situatie tussen directeuren van overheidsentiteiten op te heffen. Aanleiding is een uitzondering op het salarisplafond voor de nieuwe directeur van Aruba Airport Authority (AAA).<\/p>\n

Aruba voerde in juni 2022 een maximumsalaris in voor directeuren van overheidsentiteiten van 329.000 florin per jaar. Volgens MEP geldt dat voor elf directeursposten. De partij stelt dat het kabinet-AVP\/Futuro inmiddels een uitzondering heeft gepubliceerd die uitsluitend betrekking heeft op een nieuwe directeur bij AAA, op verzoek van de Schiphol Group.<\/p>\n

Volgens MEP heeft minister Geoffrey Wever deze week tijdens een vergadering over een ander onderwerp informatie verstrekt waaruit zou blijken dat de regering al in april 2025 een overeenkomst met Schiphol heeft getekend, waarbij het salarismaximum van 329.000 florin niet van toepassing zou zijn. Voor de nieuwe directeur van AAA zou daarop een salaris van 1,1 miljoen florin zijn goedgekeurd.<\/p>\n

De minister zou daarnaast hebben aangegeven dat in september 2025 is vastgesteld dat niet alleen Schiphol met deze kwestie te maken heeft en dat is gevraagd om ook de wet voor andere directeuren te herzien. Dat proces zou volgens MEP echter tijd vergen.<\/p>\n

De oppositiefractie noemt het opmerkelijk dat het offici\u00eble besluit voor de uitzondering voor AAA\/Schiphol in november al gereed zou zijn, terwijl nog onduidelijk is wanneer de situatie voor andere directeuren en overheidsbedrijven wordt aangepast. Volgens MEP hebben tien lokale directeuren inmiddels al salaris moeten inleveren, terwijl de nieuwe AAA-directeur nog niet is aangetreden.<\/p>\n

MEP spreekt daarom van ongelijke behandeling en stelt dat, als voor \u00e9\u00e9n directeur een uitzondering wordt gemaakt, die ook voor anderen moet gelden. De partij diende hierover een motie in. Volgens de fractie stemden AVP en Futuro tegen het voorstel, waardoor de motie geen meerderheid behaalde.<\/p>\n

MEP kondigt aan het onderwerp verder op te pakken en in gesprek te gaan met vertegenwoordigers van de staatsentiteiten. De partij zegt zich te blijven inzetten voor gelijke behandeling van lokale directeuren.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
