ORANJESTAD<\/strong> \u2013 Tijdens de behandeling in het parlement van de rijkswet HOFA is opnieuw discussie ontstaan over het bestuurlijk akkoord dat het kabinet-Wever-Croes in 2024 ondertekende. Parlementari\u00ebr Evelyn Wever-Croes stelde daarbij dat er onduidelijkheid bestaat over de inhoud en juridische waarde van dit akkoord.<\/p>\n

Volgens Wever-Croes ging het bij het akkoord om een intentieverklaring van beide regeringen om verder te onderhandelen, en niet om een bindend document. Zij benadrukte dat het akkoord volgens haar geen enkele regering juridisch vastlegt. Ook verwees zij naar juridische deskundigen en eerdere verklaringen van ministers Wever en Eman, die volgens haar hetzelfde standpunt innemen.<\/p>\n

Wever-Croes noemde het akkoord een strategische stap om Aruba met Nederland aan de onderhandelingstafel te houden, met als doel tot een betere overeenkomst voor het land te komen.<\/p>\n

Zij verklaarde verder dat het tweede kabinet-Wever-Croes samen met een team van professionals veel voorbereidend werk heeft verricht op ambtelijk niveau. Volgens haar is het echter misgegaan op het moment dat de onderhandelingen het bestuurlijke niveau bereikten. De ministers van het kabinet AVP\/Futuro, die volgens haar Aruba hadden moeten verdedigen, zouden daarin onvoldoende hebben gepresteerd.<\/p>\n

In haar bijdrage in eerste termijn zei Wever-Croes dat zij de ministers heeft gevraagd hoe vaak zij bijeen zijn gekomen, op welke manier zij hebben onderhandeld en welke punten op bestuurlijk niveau met Nederland zijn besproken. Volgens haar zijn op deze vragen geen inhoudelijke antwoorden gekomen.<\/p>\n

Op basis daarvan concludeert de MEP-fractie volgens Wever-Croes dat het kabinet AVP\/Futuro heeft toegegeven zonder op correcte wijze met Nederland te onderhandelen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
