ORANJESTAD<\/strong> \u2014 De Directie Volksgezondheid Aruba (DVG) benadrukt dat influenza niet als een gewone griep moet worden onderschat. Om complicaties en sterfte door het influenzavirus te helpen voorkomen, biedt DVG ook dit jaar een speciale vaccinatieservice aan voor pati\u00ebnten die bedlegerig zijn of zich uitsluitend per rolstoel kunnen verplaatsen.<\/p>\n

Bedlegerige personen vanaf zes maanden komen in aanmerking voor een gratis influenzavaccin. Daarvoor is alleen een geldige AZV-verzekering vereist. Families die hun thuiswonende, bedlegerige familielid willen laten vaccineren, kunnen contact opnemen met de afdeling Infectieziekten van DVG via telefoonnummer 5224000 om zich voor de service te registreren. Vervolgens komt een team van verpleegkundigen op afspraak aan huis om de vaccinatie toe te dienen.<\/p>\n

Voor pati\u00ebnten met een mobiliteitsbeperking, zoals rolstoelgebruikers, is er een vaccinatieservice in de auto beschikbaar. Personen van 60 jaar en ouder hoeven daarvoor alleen hun AZV-kaart mee te nemen. Wie jonger is dan 60 jaar, moet daarnaast ook een doktersrecept kunnen tonen. De vaccinatie wordt aangeboden bij de afdeling Infectieziekten aan de Avicenastraat 1, achter het DVG-gebouw, van maandag tot en met vrijdag tussen 13.30 en 16.00 uur.<\/p>\n

Bij aankomst moet een familielid of verzorger uitstappen om de administratieve afhandeling te regelen, waarna een verpleegkundige naar buiten komt om de vaccinatie in de auto toe te dienen.<\/p>\n

Ouderen die in een verzorgingshuis wonen, kunnen volgens DVG in het tehuis zelf worden gevaccineerd, als de familie daarom verzoekt.<\/p>\n
