ORANJESTAD \u2014 De Kustwacht Caribisch Gebied heeft donderdagavond samen met het Korps Politie Aruba (KPA) een vermiste man op zee teruggevonden. De man werd later door een helikopter uit het water gehaald en overgebracht naar de luchthaven Reina Beatrix, waar politie en ambulancepersoneel klaarstonden om hulp te verlenen.<\/p>\n

Volgens een persbericht ontving de Kustwacht rond 18.00 uur een melding van het KPA over een verwarde dakloze man die op zee vermist was geraakt. De politie startte daarop direct een zoekactie langs de kustlijn van Bushiri, Manchebo en Eagle Beach. De Kustwacht zette daarbij onder meer een kleine boot en een Metal Shark in bij het rif van Barcadera.<\/p>\n

Tijdens de zoektocht werden ook een helikopter en een Dash-vliegtuig ingezet. Er werd gezocht in het gebied tussen de kust en een boortoren, waar de man vermoedelijk naartoe was gezwommen.<\/p>\n

De gezamenlijke zoekactie leverde aanvankelijk geen resultaat op. Rond 22.00 uur wist de bemanning van het Dash-vliegtuig de vermiste man echter te lokaliseren in de buurt van de boortoren. Na die waarneming werden de helikopter en de Metal Shark direct ge\u00efnformeerd.<\/p>\n

De helikopterbemanning ging vervolgens over tot een reddingsactie en hees de man uit het water. Daarna werd hij naar de luchthaven Reina Beatrix gebracht. Daar namen het KPA en ambulancepersoneel de verdere hulpverlening over.<\/p>\n

Volgens de Kustwacht zal de man verder worden begeleid door de lokale autoriteiten.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
