ORANJESTAD \u2014 Fundashon Hospice Atardi heeft zaterdag aan het einde van de middag voor het eerst de memorial walk E Ultimo Miya, Hunto<\/em> georganiseerd. Aan de wandeling namen ongeveer tweehonderd personen deel. Het evenement stond in het teken van herdenking, verbondenheid en bewustwording rond palliatieve terminale zorg op Aruba.<\/p>\n

Volgens co\u00f6rdinator Sharienne Winterdaal wil Hospice Atardi met de activiteit het gesprek openen over een waardig levenseinde. De stichting zet zich in voor mensen in de laatste fase van hun leven en biedt daarbij ook ondersteuning aan hun naasten.<\/p>\n

De memorial walk was bedoeld als een laagdrempelige en familievriendelijke bijeenkomst, waar deelnemers niet alleen gezamenlijk konden wandelen, maar ook stil konden staan bij overleden dierbaren en bij mensen die leven met een ernstige ziekte. Verschillende aanwezigen liepen mee ter nagedachtenis aan een familielid dat in het hospice verbleef of inmiddels is overleden.<\/p>\n

Hospice Atardi benadrukt dat de zorg zich niet uitsluitend richt op de gasten van het hospice, maar ook op hun families, die in een moeilijke periode behoefte hebben aan begeleiding en steun. De organisatie spreekt van een warme en emotionele bijeenkomst, waarin deelnemers in een betrokken sfeer hun dierbaren konden eren.<\/p>\n

De stichting bedankt de sponsoren en betrokken vrijwilligers die het evenement mogelijk hebben gemaakt. Onder de ondersteuners noemt Hospice Atardi onder meer IBISA, Compra NV, Super Food, Patrishi Sports, Jonathan Wever, High Performance, Rode Kruis Aruba, Jacky Harms, Motor Unit en KPA.<\/p>\n

Na deze eerste editie wil Fundashon Hospice Atardi van de memorial walk een jaarlijks terugkerend evenement maken. De voorbereidingen voor een volgende wandeling in 2026 zullen op een later moment starten.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
