WILLEMSTAD \u2014 De Sociaal-Economische Raad (SER) heeft maandag een advies uitgebracht aan de Staten van Cura\u00e7ao over een initiatiefontwerplandsverordening van de MAN-PIN-fractie. Het gaat om een voorstel tot wijziging van de Landsverordeningen Algemene Ouderdomsverzekering (AOV) en Algemene Weduwen- en Wezenverzekering (AWW).<\/p>\n

Het initiatiefvoorstel is ingediend door Statenleden Giselle Mc William en Susanne Camelia-R\u00f6mer. Het beoogt de AOV- en AWW-uitkeringen jaarlijks automatisch te koppelen aan de consumentenprijsindex (CPI). Volgens het voorstel worden de uitkeringen telkens per 1 januari aangepast op basis van de inflatie in augustus ten opzichte van dezelfde maand een jaar eerder. Als de CPI gelijk blijft of daalt, verandert het uitkeringsniveau niet.<\/p>\n

Met de voorgestelde wijziging zou Cura\u00e7ao terugkeren naar het systeem dat gold v\u00f3\u00f3r 2013. Het mechanisme dat sindsdien van kracht is en uitgaat van re\u00eble economische groei, bleek volgens de toelichting niet uitvoerbaar omdat de benodigde statistische gegevens ontbraken.<\/p>\n

In het voorstel blijven zowel de premiehoogte als de pensioengerechtigde leeftijd ongewijzigd. De initiatiefnemers willen met de automatische koppeling vooral de koopkracht en waardevastheid van de uitkeringen beschermen.<\/p>\n

De SER laat weten het voorstel te hebben beoordeeld binnen een bredere juridische, beleidsmatige en sociaaleconomische context. Daarbij is onder meer gekeken naar internationale referentiekaders en naar de hervormingsdoelstellingen uit het Landspakket Cura\u00e7ao.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
