ORANJESTAD \u2014 Biblioteca Nacional Aruba is in oktober gastheer van de tentoonstelling Radiate. Rise. Renew.<\/em> van beeldend kunstenaar Sharina Gumbs. De opening vindt plaats op woensdag van 17.30 tot 19.00 uur. Belangstellenden zijn welkom.<\/p>\n

De expositie blijft daarna voor het publiek toegankelijk tijdens de reguliere openingstijden van de bibliotheek. Het is de tweede tentoonstelling van Gumbs in de bibliotheek in Playa.<\/p>\n

Met Radiate. Rise. Renew.<\/em> geeft Gumbs een overzicht van haar artistieke ontwikkeling. De tentoonstelling brengt werk uit verschillende perioden samen, waaronder vroege experimenten, meer beschouwende werken en recent werk dat in het teken staat van afronding, verwerking en een nieuw begin.<\/p>\n

Volgens de toelichting laat de tentoonstelling zien hoe haar kunst sinds 2008 is gegroeid in diepte, kleur, beweging en lijnvoering. Daarmee weerspiegelt het werk de verschillende transformaties en ervaringen in het leven.<\/p>\n

Centraal in de tentoonstelling staat een eerbetoon aan haar onlangs overleden moeder, die voor Gumbs een belangrijke inspiratiebron was. In dat kader zijn onder meer een portret van haar ouders en drie sculpturen van haar moeder opgenomen. Daarmee onderstreept de kunstenaar de blijvende invloed van liefde en familie in haar werk.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
