ORANJESTAD<\/strong> \u2014 RED Democratico spreekt zich positief uit over de invoering van extern financieel toezicht voor Aruba. In een verklaring stelt de partij dat dergelijke controle nodig is om de overheidsfinanci\u00ebn te beschermen en onverantwoord begrotingsbeleid tegen te gaan.<\/p>\n

Volgens RED bevat de Rijkswet duidelijke financi\u00eble normen. Zo mag het begrotingstekort niet hoger zijn dan 1,5 procent van het bruto binnenlands product (bbp), terwijl de externe schuld beperkt moet blijven tot maximaal 40 procent van het bbp. De partij noemt deze regels noodzakelijk om de speelruimte voor onverantwoord financieel beleid te beperken en publieke middelen te beschermen.<\/p>\n

RED wijst erop dat ook Nederland onder financieel toezicht van Brussel valt en stelt dat extern toezicht daarom niet uitzonderlijk is. De partij vindt dat het toezicht voor Aruba een positief kader biedt om het financieel beheer te versterken.<\/p>\n

In de verklaring uit RED kritiek op politieke partijen die zich volgens haar beroepen op autonomie om financi\u00eble controle af te wijzen. Ook stelt de partij dat eerdere oproepen om verspilling en onverantwoord uitgavenbeleid aan te pakken onvoldoende effect hebben gehad.<\/p>\n

Volgens RED is extern toezicht daarom een noodzakelijk middel om de waarde van de Arubaanse florin te beschermen en meer discipline aan te brengen in het beheer van de overheidsfinanci\u00ebn. De partij erkent dat daarmee een deel van de financi\u00eble autonomie wordt ingeperkt, maar noemt dat aanvaardbaar in het belang van de bevolking.<\/p>\n

RED besluit dat de bescherming van de publieke middelen en de toekomstige financi\u00eble stabiliteit van Aruba zwaarder moeten wegen dan politieke belangen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
