ORANJESTAD \u2014 De afdeling Jeugdgezondheidszorg (JGZ) van de Directie Volksgezondheid (DVG) laat weten dat in september de schoolvaccinatiecampagne voor het schooljaar 2025-2026 van start gaat. De campagne is bestemd voor kinderen op de kleuter- en basisschool.<\/p>\n

Ouders en voogden worden gevraagd alert te zijn op informatiebrieven en toestemmingsformulieren die via de scholen worden meegegeven. Tijdens de campagne biedt JGZ de reguliere vaccinaties aan tegen onder meer difterie, tetanus, polio, mazelen, rodehond en bof.<\/p>\n

Aan meisjes in groep 6 wordt daarnaast het HPV-vaccin aangeboden, dat helpt bij de preventie van baarmoederhalskanker. JGZ benadrukt dat het uitsluitend gaat om de reguliere vaccinaties die ook aan baby\u2019s en kinderen worden gegeven via de consultatiebureaus van het Wit-Gele Kruis (WGK). Het betreft dus niet de vaccinatie tegen Covid-19.<\/p>\n

Volgens DVG verzorgt JGZ al meer dan 70 jaar de vaccinatie van kinderen op Aruba. Daarbij werkt de afdeling samen met WGK en met kleuter- en basisscholen om de vaccinatiegraad op het eiland hoog te houden.<\/p>\n

JGZ houdt een registratie bij van alle vaccinaties die een kind heeft ontvangen en controleert aan het begin van elk schooljaar welke vaccinaties leerlingen in de tweede kleuterklas, groep 5 en groep 6 nog missen. Ouders van kinderen in deze groepen die volgens hun leeftijd nog een of meer vaccinaties nodig hebben, ontvangen een brief met informatie over de campagne en een verzoek om toestemming te geven, zodat verpleegkundigen van JGZ de ontbrekende vaccinaties kunnen toedienen.<\/p>\n
