ORANJESTAD \u2014 Het Arubaanse Olympisch Comit\u00e9 (COA) heeft voor de Pan-Amerikaanse Junior Spelen ASU2025 in Asunci\u00f3n, Paraguay, voor het eerst een Welfare Officer opgenomen in de delegatie van Team Aruba. Volgens het COA past deze stap binnen het streven naar veilig sporten en extra zorg voor het welzijn van de atleten.<\/p>\n

De Pan-Amerikaanse Junior Spelen beginnen over vijf dagen en vormen voor Team Aruba een bijzonder moment. Het gaat niet alleen om de eerste Spelen van de nieuwe olympische cyclus 2025-2028, maar ook om de introductie van een nieuwe begeleidende functie binnen de Arubaanse delegatie.<\/p>\n

COA-secretaris-generaal Nicole Hoevertsz, die tevens voorzitter is van de Safe Sports-commissie van Panam Sports, lichtte in een videoboodschap toe wat de rol van een Welfare Officer inhoudt. Deze functionaris is bedoeld als aanspreekpunt binnen de ploeg op het gebied van welzijn, begeleiding en een veilige sportomgeving.<\/p>\n

Met de toevoeging van deze functie onderstreept het COA het belang van bescherming en ondersteuning van sporters tijdens internationale evenementen. De maatregel sluit aan bij de bredere aandacht binnen de sportwereld voor safe sport en het cre\u00ebren van een verantwoorde omgeving voor atleten.<\/p>\n

Het COA deelde de aankondiging in aanloop naar de Spelen van Asunci\u00f3n, waar Aruba met Team Aruba zal deelnemen aan de eerste grote multisportevenementen van de nieuwe olympische periode.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
